The Obama administration, elected on the promise to withdraw U.S. troops by July 2011, now says the U.S. will maintain combat troops in Afghanistan until December 2014. Why are U.S. troops being kept in Afghanistan for another 4 years?
As I have reported since shortly after 9/11, the real reason for the U.S. invasion and occupation of Afghanistan is to build and secure a 1,080-mile long gas pipeline designed to carry trillions of dollars of Israeli-owned gas from Turkmenistan to Pakistan and India.
